Who We Are.

The idea of the Clothing Bank came to Sheila because of her involvement in a similar organization in Federal Way. Once she moved back to her home town of Buckley, she started thinking of ways to honor her dad, who died in 1993. Helping children in this way seemed like a perfect idea and she felt it was needed in the community.

Giving Back:

The Clothing Bank opened its doors in February of 1995. With the help and support of the White River School District, the first location was at the Wickersham campus. Helping only 20 kids the first year before the word got out and the numbers continued to grow. We now help about 600 people a year.

By 1999 the school district was no longer able to house the bank and it was moved to a downtown location. Paid for by generous community members, the clothing bank was so grateful to be able to keep its doors open. We currently reside at the Wickersham Campus. Through the years we have expanded and are now able to give away school supplies and adult clothing. It takes many volunteers to run the clothing bank. We are so grateful for the many donations, helpers, work parties, clothing drives etc. Many of our volunteers have been here for a number of years.
